So last night I decided that I wanted to make a dinner that required little to no effort but was still delicious! As a result, we had shredded bbq chicken sandwiches and they were pretty delicious!
In case anyone on here would like to know how I did it, here it is!
Ingredients:
1 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce
Approx. 2 Tb Honey
3 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Directions:
Place all ingredients into a crockpot and cook on low heat for 6 hours. Once the chicken is fully cooked, shred with a fork and mix back into sauce.
Serve on sandwich buns.
In total, this took me about 5 minutes to prepare and it fed 3 adults & a child with plenty left over!

Funny Things Kids Do to "Help"
I thought I would share a funny story of how my 3 year old likes to "help" mommy around the house. Feel free to comment with your funny stories as well!
So, as I was cleaning for my "Just What Do I Do All Day" challenge, my oldest daughter asked if she could sweep the kitchen floor while I vacuumed the living room. I told her she could, so that she could feel as though she was helping out, and to encourage her to want to help clean up.
After I finished vacuuming the living room, and putting the vacuum away, I walked into the kitchen to see how my daughter was coming along with her "job" and found that something had been spilled. I asked little Wendy(*) what she had spilled and she automatically started apologizing.
I assured her that it was going to be okay and asked again what she had spilled. Then, with the biggest smile on her face that she could possibly make, Wendy looked at me and said, "I put it in the doggy water!"
My lovely daughter had taken our broom and dipped it into the dog's water bowl, then swept the entire floor! Of course, she did not know at the time that she was just making more work for mommy...but she thought that she was the best little helper in the world!
What have your kids done to "help" that only in hindsight was humorous?

Just What Do I Do All Day?
The #1 thing that my friends and family give me a hard time about, being a SAHM, is the amount of cleaning I appear to be doing. Almost every day on my Facebook status you can find a list of things that I would like to get done for the day...my agenda. Don't get me wrong, I do not always get everything done on that list, but it's nice for me to have it written out so that when I do decide to slack off and get online I have a reminder of what I should be doing.
So on most days, it appears to everyone that I am cleaning the bathrooms, bedrooms, and doing mountains of dishes. For the most part, I only get to do a little of each of those on any regular day, spending the majority of my time feeding/changing/entertaining a 3 month old and running after a 3 year old!
So today I have decided to show everyone exactly why I have to get some cleaning done every day. This morning I went around my house, snapping pictures of all the "little messes" that seem to be piling up everywhere. Once I figure out how to use my husband's computer, I will post these "before" photos for everyone to peruse.
Today and tomorrow I am going to spend my time cleaning up these messes and will then take "after" photos. Then I am going to leave it alone for two days and take my final photos. The idea behind this challenge to myself is to re-enforce to myself why it is that I do what I do on a daily basis.
So here it goes...I am off to set my timer and get the cleaning done! Anyone else with me?

The Beginning
So I suppose I should start this little adventure of mine at the beginning. My original plans in life were to never have children and to have a promising career with the FBI. I have a college degree from a very prominent state school and even attended law school for a semester (before I decided it just wasn't what I wanted). And then it happened...I reconnected with my husband.
My husband and I have a long history of being very good friends and then not keeping in contact. But right about the time I realized that law school just wasn't for me, he came back into my life and we decided to make a "grown up" relationship work. Two months later he proposed and six months after that I became pregnant. We married two months later and in March of 2009 we were blessed with our oldest daughter!
Now, in the time between our wedding and when I had our daughter, I had moved 2 hours away from where I was living when my husband and I got together and was un-employed. So naturally, my "job" became staying at home with our daughter and spending every spare moment looking for a real job.
Although I loved my time with my daughter, I knew that we needed more income and that I would need to find a job outside the home as soon as possible. That happened for me right before my daughter turned 1 and I was back in the daily grind. This lasted for 1 year before I was pregnant again.
At the time of my pregnancy with my second daughter, I was working for the state's Department of Corrections at a mid-level prison. I was a corrections officer and I had a love/hate relationship with the job. I loved that it was something different every day but I hated being away from home so much (as the facility was an hour away from my home and there was mandated overtime).
Once I was 3 months into my pregnancy with my second daughter my doctor didn't feel comfortable with me working in such a stressful and potentially dangerous environment, so I was once again at home with the kids!
This time, I decided to embrace being a Stay-at-Home Mommy and I had really extravagant plans for how this new job of mine was going to go! I was ready for a sparkling clean house, healthy & home-cooked meals on the table every night, and extremely happy children. I was even excited about having some spare time to read a book or try out new recipes.
All I can say is, I WAS DEAD WRONG!
And that is where this blog comes into play. I only have enough time to spend about 5 or 10 minutes every couple of days on here, but I am hoping that if anyone does decide to read it, that they might have a bit of a better understanding of what being a SAHM is really all about.

Welcome!
Welcome to my brand new, very own, personal blog! That's right, I decided to join in with the "trendy" crowd and start sharing my thoughts on the World Wide Web!
Ok, now to be serious. This is a blog that is designed to share my experiences and adventures of being a Stay-at-Home Mommy (which in most cases is not as glamorous as I had originally anticipated). I hope you all can relate or at least enjoy reading about my mishaps and triumphs as much as I am going to enjoy writing about them!
